Job Summary:

The Project Communication Specialist will be responsible for communicating multi-channel outreach and inquiry responses with businesses and residents affected by planning and engineering related activities. This role will also involve writing and editing frequent project updates and other content for print and online communications, including websites, social media, and newsletters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with stakeholders, including project managers, and coordinate with other related county activities and initiatives.
  • Plan and attend public meetings and events, such as project open houses.
  • Maintain project contact information database and generate regular reports.
  • Assist with meetings with project stakeholders, including local businesses and residents, to communicate project updates and gain background information on any special needs they may have.
  • Develop and implement public information plans for projects.
  • Travel to facilities and other project-related locations as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and client-related information.
  • Provide verbal and written responses to public inquiries received by the project team and client.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field from an accredited college or university with two or more years' experience in writing marketing communications, such as collateral, case studies, white papers, email, blogs, and website content.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skills with desktop publishing software, such as InDesign.
  • Advanced skills with social media applications, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Beneficial skills include graphic design capabilities, experience with Adobe Photoshop, basic understanding of the AEC industry, knowledge of marketing/client databases, and knowledge of proposal processes.
  • Strong skills in client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent composition, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various job sites may be required.
