Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Faculty member to join our team at Kansas Health Science Center. As a Clinical Faculty member, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering a medical curriculum for obstetrics and women's health, as well as participating in the education and mentorship of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a pre-clinical and clinical curriculum in obstetrics and women's health
  • Present common obstetrical and women's health presentations to MS I and MS II students
  • Participate in small group discussions regarding common obstetrical and women's health presentations to MS I and MS II students
  • Develop syllabus for clinical rotation in obstetrics and women's health
  • Collaborate with the clinical skills education team to develop and facilitate osteopathic clinical skills courses in obstetrics and women's health
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring of department faculty as requested
  • Participate in the peer evaluation of department faculty
  • Collaborate with Assistant Dean of Outcomes & Assessment on all evaluation of all courses, laboratory, service and scholarly activities
  • Assist in credentialling OB/GYN clinical faculty
  • Participate in student interviewing, mentorship, and career counseling
  • Foster a positive culture amongst the students, faculty, and KHSU-KansasCOM staff
Qualifications
  • A clinician educator with a track record of proven effective academic and administrative experience in Medical
  • DO or MD degree with appropriate experience
  • Current, unrestricted medical license
  • Current Board Certification in specialty
  • Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies
  • Experience preferred using innovative teaching methods
  • A substantial record of success as an educator, and of managing personnel

  • Strong knowledge base in medical education assessment
  • Strong team & people management skills
  • Familiarity with AOA COCA requirements

  • Excellent service skills relevant to supervisor, peers, direct reports, medical students, and faculty
