Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting veterinarians in teaching veterinary students clinical skills, including technical skills and animal care.
Key Responsibilities- Teach veterinary students various clinical skills, including basic clinical skills and assisting with teaching more complex skills.
- Organize laboratories and order supplies, maintain and care of laboratory equipment and instruments, and perform regular cleaning and stocking of work areas.
- Create and demonstrate clinical skills models and manage and coordinate the professional skills communication class with the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
- Assist with clinical research projects, maintain accurate records, and work with multiple investigators to order and maintain supplies for various research projects.
- Perform other tasks as assigned, including participating in the completion of daily chores list and providing animal care, including daily monitoring of physical health/well-being, administering treatments, feeding, and maintaining living spaces.
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
