Veterinary Assistant-PHC

This role is responsible for providing exceptional care to client-owned animals at the Pet Health Center. The successful candidate will work closely with registered veterinary technicians to manage patient treatment and perform various veterinary assistant duties.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in nursing care and manage patient treatment
- Perform day-to-day veterinary assistant duties, including dental procedures, otic lavage, and wound care
- Train and instruct senior veterinary students, veterinary technician students, and new nursing staff
- Stock supplies and maintain facility cleanliness
- Enter lab work and client records into the lab computer system and VetView system
- Obtain specimen samples and perform diagnostic procedures
- Technical knowledge in animal care acquired through an apprenticeship, 2-year degree, or professional certificate
- Experience in handling animals in a patient care setting
This role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand, crouch, kneel, or lift heavy patients. The employee will work with medical equipment, isolation tools, and cleaning solutions.
