We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the veterinary team in our Ophthalmology service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care and support to veterinarians and veterinary students
- Assist with examinations, specimen collection, diagnostic procedures, treatments, anesthesia, and surgeries on small and large animals
- Operate advanced equipment associated with ophthalmology procedures
- Enter proper charges for cases and submit and check lab work and imaging results through the Hospital computer system
- Communicate effectively with doctors and students regarding patient status and workflow
- Maintain accurate medical records and oversee patient management by Veterinary Assistants
- Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent customer service
- Knowledge of general animal anatomy and ability to recognize signs of medical needs in a patient
