Position Overview:

The Banking Associate is responsible for executing all monetary transactions in accordance with established banking protocols and standards. This role involves receiving and disbursing funds while maintaining accurate records of all financial dealings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes deposits by verifying amounts and ensuring checks are properly endorsed.
  • Disburses cash and checks after confirming customer signatures and account balances.
  • Records customer transactions in the banking system and generates electronic receipts.
  • Implements holds on accounts for uncollected funds as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Manages daily cash supply and reconciles incoming cash.
  • Balances cash drawer at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy with system data.
  • Promotes bank products and services to both new and existing clients.
  • May assist in training for new account openings.
  • Handles cash from automated teller machines and night depositories.
  • Utilizes standard office equipment and software proficiently.
  • Maintains accurate cash drawer balances consistently.
  • Protects the bank from fraudulent activities.
  • Understands and adheres to operational policies and procedures.
  • Receives training on bank security measures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • At least six months of experience in customer service.
  • Minimum six months of experience handling cash transactions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Capability to assess customer financial needs and objectives.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Prior experience in banking or as a teller.

Work Environment: The role is performed indoors in a climate-controlled workspace with moderate noise levels.

Physical Requirements:

While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands for computer operation, and communicate verbally. Occasionally, the employee may need to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, and may also need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Must be capable of operating standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, and calculators. The role may require extended hours or travel as requested by management. Regular, reliable, and timely attendance is essential, as is the ability to navigate stairs in emergency situations.

Specific vision abilities required include close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and viewing computer screens. This position necessitates close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
