Fire Protection Trades Supervisor

At the University of Southern California, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Trades Supervisor to join our Facilities Planning and Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fire safety shop, ensuring the effective installation, service, maintenance, and inspection of fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate staff to ensure efficient and effective completion of fire protection projects
- Plan and schedule fire protection projects, ensuring compliance with city and state building codes, workplace safety, and structural integrity requirements
- Manage the department budget, providing leadership and technical guidance to staff
- Ensure high standards of quality, service, and compliance with related regulations
- Train and support staff, providing performance feedback and preparing documented appraisals
- High School Diploma or equivalent; specialized/technical training
- 6 years of fire protection experience
- Extensive knowledge of fire protection craft/trade, including a thorough understanding of all aspects of this skilled trade with progressive experience in leadership/management/supervision
- Comprehensive understanding of fire protection job components for all related projects, including those that involve coordination with other trades
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce
- Ability to read and interpret fire protection blueprints, drawings, plans, specifications, and/or sketches
