About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join our team at S&ME, Inc. in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and executing complex civil engineering projects, including natural gas pipelines, electrical distribution and transmission systems, renewable energy infrastructures, dams, water resource management, stream restoration, landfill engineering, and mining facility development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that all projects meet client expectations, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and construction professionals, to achieve project success.
  • Drive innovative solutions, optimize design processes, and ensure the practical application of engineering principles across all projects.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, as well as company policies and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an appropriate technical field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering, with experience managing multi-disciplined teams and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in client development and proposal writing, as well as the ability to develop and lead a design team with a strong work ethic and teamwork skills.
