About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join our team at S&ME, Inc. in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and executing complex civil engineering projects, including natural gas pipelines, electrical distribution and transmission systems, renewable energy infrastructures, dams, water resource management, stream restoration, landfill engineering, and mining facility development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that all projects meet client expectations, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and construction professionals, to achieve project success.
  • Drive innovative solutions, optimize design processes, and ensure the practical application of engineering principles across all projects.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, ensuring that all projects adhere to legal and environmental guidelines, as well as company policies and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an appropriate technical field, a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplined teams with excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and are well-organized.
  • Experience in client development and proposal writing.
  • Ability to develop and lead a design team possessing a strong work ethic and the ability to work as a TEAM player.
