Job Summary

Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system that prioritizes patient care and well-being. We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, embedding, and staining.
  • Access and verify patient specimens, ensuring accurate identification and handling.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, including microtomes and cryostats, to prepare specimens for microscopic examination.
  • Conduct quality control procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate testing.
Requirements
  • Associate's or vocational degree in medical laboratory science from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Completion of clinical internship or vocational/technical training in a comprehensive military laboratory science program.
  • CLIA-defined qualifications for testing personnel.
  • Histotechnician (HT) certification from a recognized agency, such as ASCP or NCA, within 180 days of hire.
Physical Demands

This role requires light work, with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds.
