Job Summary

Allina Health is a leading healthcare provider in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to individuals, families, and communities. We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform moderate and complex specimen procedures in anatomical and surgical pathology and immunohistochemistry.
  • Receive, process, and prepare patient tissues specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the Pathologist.
  • Log, batch, cut, mount, and stain procedures, ensuring accurate and timely processing of specimens.
  • Verify correct patient identification and use safe and secure specimen handling.
  • Assist with biopsy collection, evaluate results for accuracy, and resolve test problems.
  • Perform and document required instrument maintenance and quality control, taking appropriate remedial action.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and appropriate retention.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Vocational degree in medical laboratory science from a regionally accredited institution, and completion of clinical internship or Vocational or Technical Training in a comprehensive military laboratory science program.
  • Bachelor's degree in related science from a regionally accredited institution + 2 years clinical lab experience in appropriate analytic.
  • Histotechnician, HT certification required by a recognized agency such as ASCP or NCA within 180 Days.
Work Environment

This is a light work position, requiring lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
