Communications Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Officer to join our team at Albany State University. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for dispatching response to calls for service, ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Dispatch response to calls for service, utilizing effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor and respond to emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, and security incidents.
- Provide direction and guidance to callers, ensuring they receive the assistance they need.
- Collaborate with campus police personnel to handle calls for service, ensuring a swift and effective response.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities, including daily logs and incident reports.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Experience with a law enforcement or public safety agency is highly desirable.
The work is typically performed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, requiring the ability to work effectively in a team setting and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
