Job Function & Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.


Responsibilities
  • Schedules and plans service calls to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Prepares equipment, tools, and materials required for service work, and performs routine maintenance and inspections.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs, troubleshoots equipment and other on-site problems, and makes recommendations to clients.
  • Cleans and maintains tools and equipment, and responds to after-hours calls as needed.
  • Maintains documentation, including maintenance and inspection records, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Will work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on-call.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and 1-3 years of experience or equivalent training.


Valid Driver's License and other licenses may be required depending on the specific site and assignments.


Ability to follow manual and operating instructions, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet, and working knowledge of all preventative and corrective maintenance activities associated with the operation of water/wastewater treatment facilities.


Communicates clearly and professionally, contributes to a positive internal and external customer experience, and maintains composure in challenging situations.


Pays attention to detail, identifies and solves problems, escalates issues accordingly, checks work for quality, and shares suggestions to improve quality and productivity.


Works independently with minimal supervision, takes projects to completion, follows all company policies and SOPs, manages multiple tasks, and demonstrates flexibility in workflow and scheduling.


Demonstrates a positive attitude, acts in accordance with company vision, mission, and values, takes accountability for own performance, and willing to take on additional assignments.


Must be able to frequently lift 50-60 pounds, load, unload, and move large equipment/tools, access confined spaces, continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
