Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Spearhead the planning, design, and cultivation of a variety of horticultural initiatives. Supervise plant installations that flourish in their surroundings and leave a lasting impression.
  • Greenhouse Oversight: Manage the operations of multiple greenhouses and a plant nursery, including scheduling and participating in the propagation, cultivation, and harvesting of specialized horticultural varieties such as trees, shrubs, and flowering plants. Ensure the optimal functioning of greenhouse systems, including filtration, aeration, misting, and irrigation.
  • Landscape Planning: Strategize, design, and coordinate various horticultural, arboreal, and grounds maintenance tasks. Ensure all landscaping aligns with the overarching landscape strategy while optimizing resources and planning for future expansion.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to enhance and maintain the aesthetic appeal of installations, while also bringing innovative concepts to fruition.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Degree or Certification in Horticulture, Nursery or Greenhouse Management, Landscape Design, Turf Management, Master Gardener Certification, NALP Certification, or equivalent.
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in horticulture, with the capability to effectively manage and nurture plant life.
  • Passion for Horticulture: A profound enthusiasm for plants and a dedication to ensuring the success of every project.
  • Essential Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and excellent communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Community Engagement:
  • Experience in outreach or educational initiatives related to horticulture.
  • Involvement in local horticultural societies or environmental organizations.

Project Management Skills:
  • Proven capability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource management for extensive landscaping projects.

Advanced Certifications:
  • Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH).
  • ISA Certified Arborist.
  • LEED Green Associate Certification.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Familiarity with landscape design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
