**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team at Team1Medical. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care services, including clinical tasks and administrative duties.

About the Job:

This role involves assisting with various clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy, urine collection, and vital signs. You will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory and exam rooms, preparing samples for transportation, and performing data entry using our electronic medical records system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform phlebotomy (including capillary and venous draws), urine collection, pregnancy tests, lead testing, and vital signs as part of program health screening.
  • Prepare and label samples (stools for parasite, blood, sputum, etc.) for transport to appropriate laboratories.
  • Provide in-room support for all clinical staff during clinic visits as needed.
  • Maintain laboratory and exam rooms in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Inventories supplies and forms; submits items for ordering (via designated software and contract laboratory) as needed.
  • Assist in performing data entry and electronic data processing by using the program EMR, Microsoft Excel, and any other related software.
  • Stock the clinic with all necessary equipment for client screening. Assist with rotating dated stock to prevent loss.
  • Make home visits when necessary to retrieve medical records and obtain consents and/or collect specimens.
  • Perform quality assurance on all needed medical equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a community college or business/technical school Medical Assistant program.
  • Experience with blood draw.
  • Certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants.
  • BASIC CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (BCLS) Certified.
  • Six (6) months as a Medical Assistant with experience in a medical office, hospital, or laboratory is required.
  • Valid TX Driver's License.
  • Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Preferred Experience working in a community health clinic.
