About the Role

As a Crisis Response Technician with Temple University Health System, you will play a vital role in providing critical support to patients and families in crisis. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the well-being and safety of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients in crisis, identifying their needs and developing effective plans to address them.
  • Crisis Counseling: Provide empathetic and supportive counseling to patients and families, helping them navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges.
  • Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families on crisis management techniques, self-care strategies, and available resources to promote long-term well-being.
  • Referral and Linkage: Facilitate connections to community resources, institutions, and programs that can provide ongoing support and care.
  • Registration and Validation: Participate in the registration process, ensuring accurate and timely validation of insurance coverage and collection of necessary documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Crisis Intervention Training: Completion of crisis intervention training programs, such as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) or Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Community Resources: Familiarity with local community resources, including mental health services, social services, and support groups.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records.
