Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: In the role of a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will deliver essential behavioral health support and emergency response services to individuals across various age groups, ensuring cultural sensitivity and competence.
Our Crisis Intervention Specialists:

  • Perform comprehensive mental health evaluations for individuals experiencing acute psychological or emotional challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with emergency responders during critical incidents involving clients with behavioral health needs.
  • Provide immediate crisis assistance in diverse environments, including educational institutions and temporary accommodations, in partnership with allied organizations.
  • Facilitate family support interventions within clients' residences during urgent situations.
  • Contribute to treatment planning and client transitions under the supervision of the Mental Health Emergency Services Coordinator.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR COMMITTED PROFESSIONALS WHO:

  • Align with and advocate for the mission and goals of JFK Behavioral Health Center.
  • Exhibit strong communication abilities when interacting with clients in distressing circumstances.
  • Practice active listening and maintain situational awareness.
  • Serve as mediators and provide assistance to families of individuals in crisis.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the behavioral health landscape and can navigate various levels and stakeholders within the system.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11am to 7pm

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant behavioral science discipline with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on mental health experience.

-OR-

  • Master's degree in a relevant behavioral science discipline with at least 3 years of direct mental health care experience.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required.

Location: Center City Philadelphia, conveniently accessible via public transportation.
