About the Role

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a skilled Camera Lens Repair Technician to join our team at the Canon Factory Service Center in Costa Mesa, CA. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing on-site or in-house repair of imaging products, including Mirrorless cameras, Digital SLR Cameras, Lenses, Flash, Binoculars, Powershots, EF and RF lenses, Speedlite Flash, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-house servicing and repair of company products, including general maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repair of DSLR Cameras, Lenses, and Flash systems.
  • Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using established procedures.
  • Prepare reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues.
  • Work on assignments that are routine in nature but require attention to detail and judgment based on established procedures and guidelines.
  • Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications to provide efficient and responsive service to customers.
  • Generate service revenue by repairing designated equipment.
  • Maintain all technical information and Canon property assigned.
  • Prepare reports and other data for the department to ensure accurate information and record-keeping.
  • Communicate with supervisor and other departments as necessary regarding the solution of technical and/or customer service-related problem areas.
  • Perform high-demand repair volume to support departmental goals of Turn Around Time.
  • Conduct product rework/modifications/new product inspection.
About You

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in electromechanical equipment repair. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Typically requires general education and/or vocational training but little to no experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of electromechanical equipment.
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and use of electrical meter and hand tools to perform repairs.
  • Electronic device repair experience is required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 15lbs. in camera/lens/case weight.
  • Minimum six months inspecting, testing, grading, repairing, or refurbishing experience of electro-mechanical equipment (i.e., office equipment).
  • Working knowledge of computer platforms, general application software, and networking environments.
  • Experience with photography and/or cinematography is a plus.
  • Capable of accessing technical websites (i.e., E-Support platform).
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a collaborative work team environment.
  • Demonstrates a positive internal and external work attitude.
  • Demonstrates good customer service skills and abilities.
  • Work on obtaining Canon Product Servicing Certifications.
