Position Overview:

The Model Risk Management Senior Consultant will oversee and execute consulting engagements for a diverse range of financial services clients. This role primarily involves advising clients on model risk management practices and delivering model validation services, focusing on credit risk, finance, and treasury management models (including asset liability management, liquidity, and interest rate risk).
  • Oversee, mentor, and evaluate the work of fellow consultants.
  • Manage critical components of client service projects from inception to completion.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to client leadership by offering sound recommendations and solutions, fostering meaningful client relationships.
  • Support proposal development and business growth initiatives by identifying prospective clients, cultivating relationships with key executives, and crafting and presenting proposals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and client challenges to spearhead the creation of new services and solutions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or Economics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial institutions, Big 4 firms, or regulatory oversight of financial entities.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, relationship management, and new service development.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
  • Model risk management regulatory frameworks (e.g., SR 11-7, OCC, FDIC FIL).
  • Types of credit risk models (e.g., CECL, PD/LGD, Roll Rate, Scorecards, Stress Testing).
  • Other model categories (e.g., Asset Liability Management, Pricing, Mortgage Servicing Rights).
  • Hands-on experience in model validations or development, including back testing, stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Technical expertise in data processing, storage, and visualization.
  • A proactive individual capable of managing multiple priorities, resourceful in problem-solving, and adept at research.
  • Ability to produce and present clear, concise reports and presentations with actionable recommendations.
  • Lead and manage significant engagements that deliver value to clients through effective project management, deliverable creation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Proficient in leading and managing a team.
  • Ensure engagement quality and adherence to budget constraints.
  • This role may involve travel, but it is not anticipated to exceed 25%.
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Strong analytical background with knowledge of econometrics.
  • Familiarity with risk ratings, scorecard methodologies, model governance, CECL, DFAST, CCAR, and capital allocation methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience with statistical software such as SAS, Matlab, Stata, Python, and R.
  • Proficiency in database management, particularly SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
  • Basic understanding of trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., RMA CRC, CFA, FRM) are preferred.
