The position involves monitoring a comprehensive healthcare facility, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, staff, patients, and visitors. Officers will be responsible for patrolling both the interior and exterior areas of the healthcare establishment.

COMPENSATION

$16.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt role, eligible for overtime as per state regulations.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Healthcare Safety Officers are tasked with maintaining a secure environment and executing general security responsibilities to protect the facility, its personnel, patients, and guests. Duties include maintaining detailed logs of daily activities, reporting hazards, and documenting incidents, while adhering to specific contractual obligations and company policies, including compliance with HIPAA standards. Officers must be capable of performing duties in both stationary and mobile positions, even under challenging weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and security of the facility, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Interact with clients professionally, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Create and uphold an accurate Daily Activity Log.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Execute job functions with professionalism, providing outstanding customer service in various environments.
  • Respond effectively during emergencies with clarity and focus.
  • Familiarize oneself with site layouts and essential information.
  • Learn and adhere to the specific rules and regulations established for the facility.
  • Stay mentally engaged during shifts, observing and reporting any issues or potential hazards to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager.
  • Capable of working independently for extended periods while patrolling the facility, maintaining mental alertness.
  • Understand and implement the security objectives outlined in the contract with precision.
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of observations, including professional incident reports.
  • Collaborate with the Contract Manager, Security Supervisor, or facility staff during emergency situations.
  • Adhere to the dress code for Healthcare Safety Officers and arrive prepared for duty.
  • Properly utilize and maintain all necessary equipment, including vehicles, radios, computers, and uniforms.
Qualifications
  • Provide credible references and documentation proving eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks in a highly professional manner within a customer service-focused environment.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Must pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ownership of a smartphone for scheduling and timekeeping purposes.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work sites.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to punctuality.
