  • CV ICU RN experience and leadership are preferred.
  • This is a benefit-eligible, exempt position.
  • Day shifts are available, with no weekends required.
  • FTE hours per two-week period are negotiable.
Job Description

The CVICU Manager is responsible for managing one or more defined areas of patient care services, ensuring the delivery of efficient, safe, and compassionate patient care based on current standards of practice. This role provides leadership to nursing staff, fosters a culture of accountability and excellence, and coordinates activities between defined areas.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Strategic Management
    • Develops and oversees department/program to ensure alignment to organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business strategies.
    • Leads, develops, and implements short and long-range plans/programs that enhance department services.
  • Clinical Practice Knowledge
    • Assumes responsibility for evidence-based practice in designated practice areas.
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of service.
  • Performance Improvement - Safety, Risk, and Regulatory
    • Utilizes process improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of the service/care provided within the department.
    • Designs work processes and directs work performance to be compliant with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Leadership of Nursing Staff
    • Leads recruitment and hiring for positions.
    • Provides leadership, management, oversight, and work direction to nursing staff.
  • Financial Management
    • Develops, implements, monitors, and maintains a realistic, cost-effective annual budget.
    • Manages and identifies strategies to ensure efficient use of staff, supplies, and capital equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • 3 to 7 years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • 2 to 5 years of leadership experience.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required if working in Minnesota.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required if working in Wisconsin.
  • CPR - Multisource required.
  • American Nurse Credentialing Center Certification preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Medium Work*: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently.
