Job Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of Genesis Global Group (GGG), a diverse consortium engaged in various sectors including biotechnology, hospitality, real estate, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Position Summary:

As a vital member of our accounting team, the Senior Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with executive leadership, including senior Directors and the CFO. This position demands exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively manage relationships and convey financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and the general ledger framework.
  • Generate financial reports to guarantee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Ensure the precise and prompt processing of positive pay transactions.
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting initiatives.
  • Oversee accounting functions across various departments, including cash flow management, billing, payables, and budgeting.
  • Address inquiries from the CFO and provide necessary financial data.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance departmental workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and state sales tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in generating financial reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with MAS200 or similar accounting software is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • This position requires daily attendance at the office.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, and communicate.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to focus.

Education and Certifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) is mandatory.
  • CPA certification is required.
