Overview: The Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring a continuous power supply for clients. This position involves data collection and analysis, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing regular maintenance tasks. A solid understanding of engineered electric generation systems is essential, along with the ability to interpret and adhere to operational procedures. While the focus is on electric generation equipment and electronic control systems, direct engagement in electrical or electronic technician roles is not expected. The operator will collaborate with electricians, electronics technicians, and rotating equipment specialists during setup, breakdown, or troubleshooting activities. Routine responsibilities include conducting visual inspections of equipment, reporting job status, and maintaining effective communication with clients and internal teams. This position requires full-time travel as part of a rotational schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Environmental Standards:
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures established by the client and the company to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations to minimize ecological impact.
Core Duties - Reliability:
  • Operate and oversee mechanical and electrical systems to guarantee safe and dependable power generation.
  • Comprehend the operational principles of assigned equipment to consistently meet client expectations.
Core Duties - Quality:
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with client specifications, regulations, and industry standards throughout all operational stages.
  • Document incidents accurately through designated reporting systems.
Troubleshooting:
  • Quickly identify and resolve operational challenges to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
  • Possess a strong understanding of equipment principles to prevent recurring issues.
Documentation:
  • Keep precise records of power generation activities, including routine equipment readings and process metrics.
  • Utilize electronic systems for logging operations, reporting issues, and managing power generation equipment.
Team Collaboration:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with client personnel, company colleagues, and relevant third parties.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and address their inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operational Enhancements:
  • Lead and engage in initiatives aimed at improving processes to boost efficiency and productivity in power generation operations.
Additional Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy industry.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in hydraulic fracturing.
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment operation, particularly in power generation or electric hydraulic fracturing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Experience in leading or participating in process improvement projects is preferred.
Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Proficient with computers, email, and data collection tools.
  • Ability to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Willingness to work in challenging conditions such as heat, cold, noise, and wet environments.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Availability for extensive travel is required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Capable of repetitive movements involving both hands and feet.
