Overview: The Equipment Operator is tasked with ensuring a continuous power supply for clients, performing data collection and analysis, troubleshooting equipment issues, and carrying out regular maintenance tasks. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of engineered electric generation systems and the ability to interpret and adhere to operational procedures. While primarily focused on electric generation equipment and electronic control devices, direct engagement in electrical or electronic technician responsibilities is not expected. The operator will collaborate with electricians, electronics technicians, and rotating equipment technicians during setup, takedown, or troubleshooting activities. Routine responsibilities include visual inspections of equipment, reporting job status, and maintaining communication with clients and internal teams. This position involves a rotational schedule with travel requirements of up to 100%.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Environmental Standards:
  • Follow client and company safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental regulations to minimize ecological impact.
Core Duties - Reliability:
  • Operate and monitor mechanical and electrical systems to guarantee safe and dependable power generation.
  • Understand the operational principles of assigned equipment to consistently meet client expectations.
Core Duties - Quality:
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with client requirements, regulations, and industry standards throughout all operational phases.
  • Document incidents through appropriate channels using computerized systems.
Troubleshooting:
  • Quickly identify and resolve operational challenges to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
  • Possess a solid understanding of equipment operating principles to prevent recurring issues.
Documentation:
  • Keep precise records of power generation activities, including routine equipment readings and process parameters.
  • Utilize electronic systems for documenting operations, reporting issues, and managing power generation equipment.
Collaboration:
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with client personnel, company colleagues, and relevant third parties.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and address their inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Operational Enhancement:
  • Lead and engage in initiatives aimed at improving processes to boost efficiency and productivity in power generation operations.
Additional Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy industry.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in hydraulic fracturing.
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment operation, particularly in power generation or electric hydraulic fracturing.
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Experience in leading or participating in process improvement projects is preferred.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
  • Proficient with computers, email, and data collection tools.
  • Ability to perform duties safely.
  • Capable of working in challenging conditions such as heat, wetness, cold, and noise.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
