Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Assistant to join our team at North High School. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafeteria and providing excellent customer service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation, inventory management, and quality control to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, including cash registers, and maintain accurate records of sales and inventory.
  • Participate in daily cleaning and sanitizing of the cafeteria and kitchen areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with cafeteria managers and other staff members to ensure seamless operations and achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in food service or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
