Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care and Support: Assist participants with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as directed by the licensed nurse.
  • Meal Support: Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring that participants' dietary needs are met and followed.
  • Medical Support: Assist with specimen collections, oxygen monitoring, and vital sign checks, as directed by the nursing team.
  • Communication and Reporting: Report any medical concerns or changes in participants' physical, cognitive, or functional status to the primary nurse.
  • Transportation and Escort: Escort participants to medical appointments and other scheduled events, ensuring their safe transportation and comfort.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Restock supplies, maintain the cleanliness of exam rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and supply closets, and sanitize equipment and surfaces.
  • Activities and Therapies: Participate in activities, special projects, and therapeutic one-on-one sessions, as directed by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Vital Signs and Transfers: Perform vital signs and transfer participants safely, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Training and Development: Complete required trainings and attend monthly meetings and trainings, as scheduled.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, infection control, and participant rights.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certification: HHA certification or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of experience working with the geriatric population, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Ability to relate well to elders, anticipate their needs, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate Microsoft computer skills preferred.
