Job Title: Pediatric Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
Thom Child & Family Services is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join their team. As a Pediatric Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing home and community-based early parenting partnership services to expected parents and families with infants and toddlers who are high need due to practical barriers. You will work in partnering with parents/caregivers to provide connection, assistance, and resources available in local communities. You will monitor developmental milestones and progress to infants up to 1 year old with parents/caregivers to inform ongoing need for direct service, consultation and/or assessment. Through this collaborative process, you ensure families' priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

Responsibilities:
• Assist and/or complete initial intakes and provide follow-up referrals and/or interagency service coordination as needed.
• Provide services using a coaching model with infants and families. This will include home visits, and may include child groups and parent groups.
• Monitor developmental milestones and progress with parents/caregivers to inform ongoing need for direct service, assessment and/or referrals.
• Provide parent/caregiver education on health and safety issues during home visits or parent education groups.
• Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate.
• Document all information necessary for the upkeep of client files.
• Participate in developmental screenings in the community.
• Attend program functions for clients and the public.

Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
• Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development
• Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards
• Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills
• Current driver's license and reliable transportation
• Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
• CPR/First Aid required within the first 6 months
