Staff Accountant Job Description

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for a wide range of general accounting duties related to our fiscal month-end closing process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of information related to the monthly closing process, including monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for assigned accounts, researching and analyzing findings to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze company financials for completeness, reasonableness, and fluctuation explanations.
  • Research and respond to information requests from various corporate departments and personnel.
  • Interact with independent external auditors regarding quarterly reviews and the annual financial audit to ensure timely delivery of information and completion of work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting.
  • 1-2 years of industry or public accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
