About the Role

RTI International is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Human Resources leader to join our team as a Director, Human Resources Business Strategy and Operations. This role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the business objectives of our Social, Statistical, and Environmental Science (SSES) Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic HR Planning and Business Partnership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support the business objectives of the SSES Business Unit, including talent management, succession planning, and organizational development.
  • Organizational Problem-Solving and Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and address organizational problems, and develop solutions that align with the business objectives.
  • Project Management, Departmental Support, and Function Development: Manage projects and initiatives that support the HR function, including the development of HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Function Oversight and Leadership: Provide strategic and operational oversight of the HR function, including the development of HR strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Team Management and Talent Development: Manage a team of HR professionals, including performance planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Standard Operating Procedures, Compliance, and Professional Credibility: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for HR processes, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and enhance the professional credibility of the HR function.
  • Increasing Leadership Responsibility and Performance Accountability: Take on increasing levels of responsibility for different size work groups operating with different levels of autonomy.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and 18 years of experience, Master's degree and 14 years of experience, PhD and 10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Progressive experience in leadership position, demonstrated expertise in strategic HR planning and program development, strong knowledge of HR policies, laws, and compliance requirements, proven ability to collaborate with senior leaders and align HR initiatives with business objectives, excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, track record of talent development and team management, continuous learning mindset and proactive approach to HR innovations, professionalism and credibility in representing the HR function, strong business acumen and cultural fit with the organization.
