The Clinical Specialist, Medication Management and Optimization will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications across UNC Health. This position will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement medication-use policies and procedures, and will serve as a subject matter expert on medication management and optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement medication-use policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective medication use
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address medication-related issues
- Provide education and training to healthcare professionals on medication management and optimization
- Conduct medication-use evaluations and make recommendations for improvement
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve medication use and patient outcomes
- PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree
- Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy
- Relevant ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residencies or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
This position will be based in Chapel Hill, NC, and will require occasional travel to other UNC Health locations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
