Clinical Specialist, Medication Management and Optimization

The Clinical Specialist, Medication Management and Optimization will play a key role in ensuring the success of initiatives across the healthcare system. This position will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary stakeholder groups to develop and implement evidence-based medication-use policies and clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary stakeholder groups to ensure success of initiatives
- Write, review, and present accurate, high-quality, evidence-based documents
- Maintain an evidence-based hospital and clinic medication formulary
- Identify, analyze, design, and execute system-level medication-use optimization initiatives
- Monitor medication formulary compliance
- Lead and co-chair a UNC Health System P&T Subcommittee
- Develop and maintain multidisciplinary and Department of Pharmacy medication-use policies and clinical guidelines
- Participate in and contribute to quality assurance and other programs that maintain regulatory compliance
- Oversee routine functions of the drug information call center
- Serve as a primary preceptor of pharmacy students and PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents
- Deliver didactic and other learning experiences within relevant UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy courses
- PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree
- Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment
- Relevant ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residencies or equivalent experience
