We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic - Pump Fitter to join our team at the Pogo operation in Alaska. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment on a rotational camp schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

The Pump Fitter Mechanic will report to the Mobile Maintenance Leading Hand and will be responsible for the maintenance of underground pump and dewatering systems, as well as related equipment. All maintenance tasks must be performed efficiently and in compliance with company standards and safety protocols.


Key Duties Include:

  • Conducting diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance to a high standard.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all work areas.
  • Providing technical support to fellow maintenance team members.
  • Ensuring quality workmanship by adhering to standards and testing equipment before handover.
  • Identifying necessary parts and equipment for both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
  • Continuously evaluating scheduled jobs for potential improvements.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with Yamada or similar air actuated de-watering pumps.
  • At least 3 years' experience with Apex or similar 480v submersible de-watering pumps.
  • 3 years' experience with Challenge 104 and 114 pump systems.
  • Experience in maintaining underground air door systems.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and ability to perform preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Must successfully complete a physical and drug test, along with a background check.

Work Schedule:

This position operates on a 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotational schedule, with shifts that may extend up to 12 hours per day in a remote camp setting. Candidates should be prepared for challenging conditions, including varying weather and noise levels.

Employees will reside at the company-provided camp during their rotation, which includes dining services, recreational facilities, and comfortable accommodations.
