POSITION TITLE: MST-BSF Program Supervisor

PROGRAM: Multisystemic Therapy - Building Stronger Families (MST-BSF)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The MST-BSF Program Supervisor is responsible for providing guidance, oversight, and support to the MST-BSF team, which delivers intensive in-home services to families facing challenges related to substance use disorders and involvement with child welfare services. This role serves as the primary contact between the team and the MST Services consultant, addressing clinical matters.

SUPERVISION:

Reports to: Director of Home-Based Services or Designee

Supervises: MST-BSF Clinicians and Case Managers as assigned

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate weekly group supervision sessions to ensure adherence to MST principles and the MST analytic framework.
  • Provide individualized supervision to address clinician competency and remove barriers to effective MST-BSF treatment implementation.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of clinical efforts to facilitate peer and supervisory feedback, meeting all reporting requirements.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to clinicians to enhance client outcomes through various interventions, including role-playing, field visits, and performance evaluations.
  • Offer administrative support to overcome systemic obstacles to treatment success.
  • Guarantee clinical and administrative support availability for clinicians at all times.
  • Ensure clinician accessibility to clients to foster engagement.
  • Facilitate clinician engagement with all essential participants.
  • Provide direct clinical training to ensure clinician proficiency in MST-BSF interventions.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the causes of referral behaviors and guide effective treatment.
  • Maintain a Clinician Development Plan for each clinician, reviewed monthly and updated quarterly.
  • Collaborate with the Family Services Research Center to collect adherence measure data.
  • Establish relationships with community stakeholders to ensure a steady flow of referrals and high customer satisfaction.
  • Work with MST-BSF experts to provide resources and training to team members.
  • Support weekly MST-BSF consultations by ensuring timely submission of paperwork and participating in all consultations.
  • Provide LCSW supervision for child service staff.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

  • Lead the hiring and training processes for new staff.
  • Adhere to personnel policies regarding hiring, discipline, and termination.
  • Maintain required personnel documentation for MST staff.
  • Keep management informed of staff-related issues.
  • Review and approve timesheets and expense reports, ensuring compliance with agency guidelines.
  • Meet contractual obligations for billing and service reporting.
  • Engage with community groups to strengthen local relationships.
  • Foster positive working relationships with community partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong commitment to the MST-BSF model.
  • Graduate degree in human services or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Discretion in maintaining client and employee confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Automobile liability insurance meeting agency standards.
  • Licensure by the appropriate state department in a clinical field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, email, and internet; familiarity with Excel is preferred.
  • No history of DUI violations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with pragmatic family therapies.
  • Individual therapy experience with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques.
  • Marital therapy experience with behaviorally based approaches.
  • Substance abuse treatment experience for both adults and children.
  • Behavioral therapy experience targeting behavioral change in children.
  • Trauma treatment experience for both adults and children.
  • Experience in implementing interventions within family systems.
  • Provision of clinical supervision.
  • Experience assessing suicidality and substance abuse.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understanding of family systems theory.
  • Knowledge of social ecological theory.
  • Familiarity with behavioral therapies.
  • Expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy, particularly for trauma and anger management.
  • Knowledge of child development research.
  • Research on child abuse and neglect.
  • Social skills assessment and intervention techniques.
