Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant Floater to support our diverse medical practice. This role involves providing essential assistance in delivering safe, effective, and efficient patient care. The Medical Assistant Floater will be required to travel to various CLS Health locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and room patients for examinations.
  • Conduct interviews to update patients' chief complaints, medical histories, medication lists, and vital signs.
  • Organize patient charts in advance and verify insurance benefits.
  • Ensure all examination rooms are clean and adequately stocked before and after patient visits.
  • Assist in medication refills as directed by physicians and obtain necessary pre-authorizations.
  • Confirm that all referrals are current and correctly documented in patient charts.
  • Support physicians during examinations, including wound care and procedures.
  • Manage follow-up communications and document interactions accurately.
  • Educate patients on diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, referrals, and procedures as instructed by physicians.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments post-examination.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations prior to processing orders.
  • Distribute faxes to appropriate team members.
  • Travel to other CLS Health locations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant from a nationally recognized accreditation body or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Medical Assistant role.
  • Willingness to travel to various CLS Health locations.
  • Experience in a medical office or customer service setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance billing is advantageous.
