Job Responsibilities

Oversee the installation of roofing systems using materials such as TPO, EPDM, and PVC. This role may also involve applying coatings to roofs, siding, and walls to ensure proper sealing and insulation.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in roofing
  • Valid Driver's License

Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to implement a safety plan, including conducting toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Ability to manage labor projections, material storage, and resource requirements.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and executing roofing layouts.
  • Skilled in cutting, shaping, and installing various construction materials.
  • Experience in managing material inventory.
  • Knowledge of installing various roofing components, including pipe boots, ridge caps, and flashing.
  • Ability to oversee project documentation, including timesheets and job reports.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team.
  • Capable of training and supervising crew members and subcontractors to achieve quality and production targets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with general contractors and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project files and shop drawings with management, ensuring clarity on scope, materials, and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of equipment on-site.
  • Supervise daily operations, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and performance.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports detailing project progress and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure quality control by checking for water tightness and proper completion of projects.
  • Install and repair single-ply roofing systems and other materials as required.
  • Operate necessary machinery and tools safely and effectively.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of using ladders and scaffolding.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements and maintain balance.

Work Environment

  • Work in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Exposure to noise and potential hazards requires adherence to safety protocols.
  • Potential for minor injuries; safety measures must be strictly followed.
