Job Title: Family Practice Call Center

Evergreen Family Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Practice Call Center professional to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and EFM policies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers, and managers via phone, email, or in person.
  • Update registration information and current insurance details.
  • Answer phones diligently and efficiently, responding to or redirecting calls to appropriate staff or departments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all insurances, including verifying benefits and eligibility for OHP, DCIPA, and Atrio, including PCP assignment.
  • Advocate for patients by creating appropriate patient cases, requests, communications, and appointments in Athena.
  • Communicate, calculate, and collect co-pays, coinsurances, and deductibles from patients over the phone.
  • Answer inquiries by clarifying desired information, researching, locating, and providing information.
  • Communicate with outside provider offices, facilities, and insurances via phone, fax, and computer.
  • Keep an active working knowledge of Athena and engage in continuing education and trainings as offered by manager or company.
  • Accurately account for credit card transactions posted and balance batch at the end of the night.
  • Self-manage to stay on task, maximize efficiencies, and promote a positive work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication, interpersonal, clerical, and organizational skills necessary to complete job duties.
  • Ability to handle confidential aspects of the work.
  • Ability to type at least 40 wpm and activate and operate computers and office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent walking, use of hands and fingers, handling, or feeling, and reaching forward with hands and arms.
  • Occasional sitting and stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
