Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient examinations, gather medical histories, and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Engage patients and families in treatment planning
  • Develop and document treatment plans in patient records
  • Collaborate with staff and management to enhance care delivery
  • Initiate referrals to specialists as needed
  • Provide timely clinical information to the healthcare team
  • Ensure accurate and complete patient documentation
  • Work with management to maintain compliance with billing and coding
  • Facilitate optimal patient access to care
  • Offer medical consultations across departments
  • Contribute to the development of medical protocols and procedures
  • Participate in on-call coverage as required
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and foster respectful communication
  • Promote health education in collaboration with other healthcare professionals

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: MD or DO degree with completion of an ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency.

EXPERIENCE: Preferred: Clinical experience in primary care settings, including family medicine or internal medicine.

LICENSURE: Current American Board certification in internal medicine or family medicine, valid Connecticut medical license, BLS certification, and DEA registration.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Proficient in applying medical principles and techniques, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage stress and interact effectively with diverse populations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess the physical and mental capabilities necessary for the practice of internal and family medicine.
