Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient examinations and gather comprehensive medical histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Engage patients and their families in care decisions
- Develop and document treatment plans
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance service delivery
- Initiate referrals to specialists as necessary
- Provide timely clinical information to the interdisciplinary team
- Ensure accurate and complete patient documentation
- Work with management to maintain compliance with billing and coding standards
- Facilitate optimal patient access to care
- Participate in the creation of medical protocols and standards
- Provide on-call coverage as required
- Foster a respectful and professional environment through constructive feedback
- Promote health education in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: MD or DO degree with completion of an ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency.
EXPERIENCE: Preferred experience in primary care settings, either in family medicine or internal medicine.
LICENSURE: Current American Board certification in internal medicine or family medicine, valid Connecticut medical license, BLS certification, and DEA registration.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Proficient in applying medical principles and techniques, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage stress and interact effectively with diverse populations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess the physical and mental capabilities necessary for the practice of internal and family medicine.
