Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative I to join our team at Higheredmilitary. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients and customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound phone calls and inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries.
- Route calls and messages within our practice management system to appropriate staff, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
- Adhere to established protocols and procedures for responding to customer requests and questions, escalating complex or difficult situations as needed.
- Schedule and/or reschedule patient appointments within our practice management system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Obtain, review, and update patient demographic and insurance information within our billing system, ensuring accurate and compliant data.
- Manage patient chart process to ensure that information is inputted and scanned properly, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Provide coverage to other administrative patient-facing roles as needed, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Ensure that patients provide any pre-visit documentation, pre-certifications, or authorizations for medical services as needed, and/or referrals, if required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Outstanding customer service skills, with a compassionate, courteous, and helpful phone manner.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to maintain a tactful demeanor while handling high-volume phone inquiries.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
