Safety Administrator Job Description

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Safety Administrator to join our team in Casper, WY. As a key member of our wind generation operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and implement strategies to reduce risks and improve safety performance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel on safety, health, and regulation compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with facility safety committees, plant safety administrators, and other personnel to develop and implement safety initiatives.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and reporting on safety performance, and establish effective monitoring and auditing systems.
  • Develop and maintain a safety inventory, and provide support on occupational health and industrial hygiene issues.
  • Design and deliver safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Conduct new-employee health and safety orientations, and prepare monthly safety reporting activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Industrial Health, Safety, or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices, including federal, state, and local laws and OSHA standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to consult and resolve internal or external customer issues.
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels, including people with different styles and backgrounds, and to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to develop alternatives, standards, or practices within defined areas.
  • Proficient with personal computers, including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications.
  • Analysis, assessment, and investigation skills to determine recommendations or plans of action.
  • Travel may be required, and ability to work at heights and climb wind turbines repeatedly during a day.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during a day.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • State, federal, or regulatory certifications or licensing.
  • Experience working in a power plant, process plant, or manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of wind power plant operations and plant systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
