Job Title: Customer Support: Fraud Investigation Specialist

Location: Hybrid work model

Schedule: Two available shifts

  • Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm
  • Tuesday - Friday 10am - 7pm and Saturday 8am - 4:30pm

Job Type: Long-term contract with potential for permanent placement

Compensation: $17 - $19 per hour

Number of Openings: 3 - 5

Overview:

The primary role of the Fraud Investigation Specialist involves managing all necessary documentation related to fraud claims and alerts, requiring thorough research and analysis. Responsibilities include handling incoming inquiries from members, fraud victims, and internal staff, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process actionable fraud alerts and notifications, conducting necessary investigations.
  • Evaluate and confirm Identity Theft claims and other fraud-related issues.
  • Examine accounts and transactions for signs of fraudulent activity, taking appropriate measures to mitigate losses.
  • Assist members with fraud alerts and collaborate to resolve concerns.
  • Gather and report information on suspicious activities through established protocols.
  • Verify membership details and identification documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Resolve fraud claims in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of alerts and actions taken.
  • Stay informed about current fraud trends and schemes in the financial sector.
  • Familiarize with relevant regulations and compliance training.
  • Utilize fraud detection tools effectively to monitor alerts and take necessary actions.

Qualifications:

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of banking or credit union operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with various types of fraud and schemes is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
