Position Overview

Senior Family Support Specialist - H14C

This role is integral to the mission of Oklahoma Human Services.

Annual Compensation: $44, Comprehensive State Employee Benefits

Occasional travel is required. A valid driver's license and appropriate car insurance are necessary.


Essential Qualifications:

Senior Family Support Specialist

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • OR a bachelor's degree coupled with one year of professional social work experience.
  • OR an equivalent mix of education and experience, allowing for one additional year of professional social work experience for each year of the bachelor's degree.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and addresses inquiries regarding laws, policies, and procedures related to social safety net initiatives; provides clarity on application processes and filing requirements.
  • Collaborates with various teams to clarify policies and procedures, assesses the status of individual applications, resolves issues, and directs requests to the appropriate personnel.
  • Drafts and disseminates communications regarding social safety net programs, including agency rules, policies, and procedural guidelines.
  • Oversees the assignment of tasks to staff and manages the scheduling for the distribution of Electronic Benefit Transfer cards.
  • Inputs and retrieves data within the system; reviews documentation including customer verifications; performs proofreading and routine corrections on previously entered data.
  • Processes claims from vendors, contractors, medical providers, and others for reimbursement under various state programs.
  • Manages a caseload, delivering services to individuals and families; provides coaching and coordinates necessary treatments or services.
  • Assists clients in obtaining essential information and documentation; conducts interviews to gather information; offers transportation or other assistance as needed within established guidelines.
  • Assesses the needs of individuals and families through various communication methods to gather information for eligibility determinations, ensuring compliance with established rules and guidelines; completes necessary case documentation.
  • Engages in staff meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to identify effective pathways for client success and self-sufficiency.
  • Fosters and develops positive community partnerships with public members, service providers, and vendors in a collaborative and professional manner; works effectively with partners to serve shared clients while maintaining confidentiality.
