Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings Design

At CHA Consulting, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings Design to join our Commercial & Institutional - Architectural & Structural Team. This key role will lead the technical execution of projects within the discipline and provide expert consultation in one or more areas of structural engineering.

Your Impact

As a Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings Design, you will play a critical role in creating high-quality, collaborative designs that stress innovation grounded in careful listening to functional needs and tailored to culture and specific organizational needs. You will work closely with architects and engineers to create solutions that endure in the built environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff.
  • Develop and present technical proposals and external presentations to clients, public, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve highly complex technical issues and continuously monitor the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) required.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required.
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences.
