Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of sophisticated waterway structures (including locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts).
  • Preparation of construction design documents (plans and specifications) for waterway structures.
  • Conduct quality reviews of drawings and deliverables from designers and engineers.
  • Act as a technical liaison for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.
  • Participate in professional association committees to help establish policies, standards, and research at various levels.
  • Deliver technical presentations and papers as required.
  • May stamp/sign drawings or reports or serve as the Engineer of Record for projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Structural Engineering.
  • PE license or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.
  • 6-15+ years of experience with complex structural projects.
  • Familiarity with various structural engineering software analysis tools.
  • Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Dam Safety Guidelines is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others or work independently as needed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or meetings.
