Key Responsibilities:
- Design of sophisticated waterway structures (including locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts).
- Preparation of construction design documents (plans and specifications) for waterway structures.
- Conduct quality reviews of drawings and deliverables from designers and engineers.
- Act as a technical liaison for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.
- Participate in professional association committees to help establish policies, standards, and research at various levels.
- Deliver technical presentations and papers as required.
- May stamp/sign drawings or reports or serve as the Engineer of Record for projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Structural Engineering.
- PE license or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.
- 6-15+ years of experience with complex structural projects.
- Familiarity with various structural engineering software analysis tools.
- Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Dam Safety Guidelines is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others or work independently as needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or meetings.
