About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Project Engineer to join our Waterway Structures Group within our Water Discipline. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing complex waterway structures, preparing construction design documents, and performing quality reviews of drawings and work products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Design: Design complex waterway structures, including locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts.
  • Construction Documents: Prepare construction design documents, including plans and specifications, for waterway structures.
  • Quality Reviews: Perform quality reviews of drawings and work products from designers and engineers.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional association committees to establish policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level.
  • Communication: Deliver technical papers and presentations.
  • Project Management: May serve as Engineer of Record for the project and stamp/sign drawings or reports.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Structural preferred.
  • License: PE license or ability to become licensed within 12 months.
  • Experience: 6-15+ years' experience on complex structural projects.
  • Software Skills: Experience with various structural engineering software analysis packages.
  • US Army Corps of Engineers: Prior experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures is a plus.
  • Dam Safety Guidelines: Experience with Dam Safety Guidelines is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
