As the Local Office Safety Coordinator, you will play a critical role in enhancing the skills, performance, and productivity of trainees and team members in our Portland, Maine office. You will assist with developing, implementing, and managing the company's safety program and serve as the primary trainer within the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the local manager and arborist representatives to manage and develop the office safety program
Provide safe on-site training, mentoring, and supervision of crew members of all skill levels
Ensure that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
Conduct periodic crew, facility, and pesticide storage audits
Ensure that new employee orientations are conducted in a meaningful way
Schedule and conduct daily Tailgate Safety Meetings
Ensure that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
Perform ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments
Requirements:
At least five (5) years of experience in the tree care industry is preferred
Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
Demonstrated ability to conduct group and individual training or prior crew leader experience
Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
ISA Certified Arborist certification is preferred but not required
