Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure financial reporting aligns with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), applicable laws, and Corporate Accounting Standards.
  • Policy Adherence: Adhere to Company Financial Policies and Procedures, ensuring consistency across all subsidiaries, and communicate exceptions to the leader or Vice President of Finance.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical accounting expert and resource to all HE properties, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Leadership: Exercise flexible leadership, professional management skills, and consultative and participative decision-making skills to drive business success.
  • Process Improvement: Improve business processes and support critical business strategies, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Account Reconciliations:
    • Review and evaluate general ledger account balances for accuracy, gathering data, reviewing, evaluating, and making appropriate calculations.
    • Review and evaluate data from accounting systems for accuracy in capturing information and reporting data.
    • Maintain strong, effective internal controls and audit procedures to ensure financial integrity.
    • Prepare year-end audit schedules for annual external audit, if applicable.
    • Research problems, determine appropriate corrections, and make recommendations as necessary.
  • System Development: Develop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems, leveraging current computer technology to improve efficiency.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records using current computer technology.
  • Journal Entries: Record journal entries as assigned, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Special Projects: Assist the Corporate Sales Audit Leader and staff with special projects, conducting financial analyses and preparing management reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Accounting Degree: Accounting degree and minimum 5 years' experience in overall management of all aspects of accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet preparation using Microsoft Excel.
  • Software Applications: Ability to learn and implement General Ledger software applications.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in internal or public accounting audit and the amusement, retail, or food industry is a plus.
