Are you a seasoned Lead Cost Estimator with experience in main contracting?

This is an excellent opportunity for a lead cost estimator with a main contracting background to join a family-owned firm that specializes in delivering innovative educational solutions through Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). As a Lead Cost Estimator, you will oversee all pre and post-construction processes, managing the commercial aspects from inception to completion.

You will be engaged in projects across the education and healthcare sectors, overseeing up to six active sites simultaneously, with a total project portfolio value reaching £10 million.

Your Responsibilities as a Lead Cost Estimator:

  • Oversee all commercial activities, from tendering to final accounts.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender documentation and assess responses.
  • Develop Cost Value Reports (CVRs) to monitor expenditures.
  • Manage all applications, including those from subcontractors.
  • Provide ongoing cost management across all projects.

We invite applications from Lead Cost Estimators who:

  • Have a proven track record in delivering projects as a main contractor.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms.
  • Can demonstrate experience in managing actual versus budgeted costs.
  • Have participated in final accounts for multiple projects concurrently.
  • Are capable of working on projects as both subcontractor and main contractor.
  • Will oversee the overall commercial aspects of the business, ensuring project profitability.
