Position Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of a dynamic clinical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients, field clinicians, referral sources, and various internal departments including Intake and Authorizations.
  • Manage patient scheduling from admission through to discharge, ensuring timely and accurate visits.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to enhance the overall experience.
  • Address urgent scheduling requests and manage daily communications regarding patient visits.
  • Verify patient demographics and prepare them for their initial home care visit.
  • Handle customer inquiries promptly and efficiently, utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Report any patterns of non-compliance by field clinicians to the clinical manager.
  • Maintain ongoing communication among the disciplines involved in patient care until discharge.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all relevant policies and standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and provide cross-coverage as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Equivalent / GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a related medical field.
  • Familiarity with third-party payor and managed care insurance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and coding.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
