*Position Overview*
  • Responsible for the setup and operation of CNC and/or EDM machinery to execute precise machining tasks, including fast hole drilling and graphite shaping on various materials, adhering to detailed specifications and setup guidelines.
  • Analyze technical documentation and setup directives to ascertain machining requirements, dimensional standards, and operational procedures. Manage tool lengths and maintain an updated tool change log.
  • Install work-holding devices and secure workpieces on the machine table using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Select and position tooling, ensuring electrodes are correctly placed in the automatic tool changer as per the process sheet.
  • Monitor numerical displays on the control panel, validating dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds against process specifications. Conduct initial program checks at the start of each shift.
  • Perform inspections on first-run pieces, documenting key dimensions for compliance with specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Report any discrepancies in machined pieces or machine malfunctions to the supervisor. Execute deburring processes in accordance with specifications and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production, machinery, and quality issues as they arise.
  • Maintain tools and measuring instruments provided by the company, ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.
  • Communicate any unusual conditions or problems to the supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
  • Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
*Qualifications/Requirements*
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools is essential.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is necessary.
  • Proficient in shop mathematics.
  • Capability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to wearing personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and shoes.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required.
